Church Family,

As you know we are living in a unique time that will forever be marked on the timelines of history; however, you also know God has been faithfully reigning throughout history and God is still faithfully reigning today!

The financial impact of COVID-19 is far-reaching and has placed a strain on many people, families and businesses.  Please know we are praying for you and we are looking for ways to help and this is why we are so grateful for the church family’s continued faithfulness in giving during this time.

We want you to know some of the steps we have taken to be faithful stewards of God’s resources in order to continue to equip you to Love Christ, Christians, Neighbors and Nations during these days.

Norris Ferry Community Church Coronavirus Response
March 13, 2020

Dear Norris Ferry Family:

Below is a statement from the governor’s office made this afternoon.

“Gov. John Bel Edwards signed a proclamation that among other actions immediately halts any gathering of more than 250 people until Monday, April 13, closes all K-12 public schools statewide effective Monday, March 16 resuming Monday, April 13, as Louisiana seeks to slow the spread of COVID-19 in the state. As of mid-day Friday, Louisiana has 33 presumptive positive cases of COVID-19.”

Out of respect for the governing authorities who God has placed over us and as an act of love for our neighbors we have decided to act with an abundance of caution and suspend all official church gatherings and events until further notice. This includes Worship Gatherings, Core Classes, SHINE, Connection Groups, Community Groups and all other official church events. We will communicate all updates through This Week @ NFCC.

Our prayer is that this decision frees the conscience of anyone who is not comfortable gathering during this unique season of time.  Of course Christians are welcome to gather on their own for prayer and encouragement from God’s Word as they so desire and are led by the Holy Spirit to do so.

It is also our strong desire to provide love, support and care for our families and friends in need during this time.  Please contact your Staff, Elders, or Community Group leader if you are in need of assistance. This is what community is all about.

Each Sunday, beginning this Sunday, by 9:00am we will be providing a link to a current recorded sermon.  In addition, we will continue to consider other ways we can provide valuable content online to help you continue to grow and make the most of this time as individuals and families.

We will continue to stay informed by various health organizations and we will publish an update at least once a week through This Week @ NFCC.  We encourage you to stay informed through sources such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO) and Louisiana Health Organization (LHO)
