Teacher: Andrew Gaspard
Purpose:
This class explores the biblical mandate and practical shape of generosity in a disciple’s life. Together, we will trace generosity to its root in the character of God, a Father who gave the Son before anyone asked and has kept giving ever since. We will follow that generosity outward into the three places it actually lives: what we earn, what we own, and who we are to one another. Participants will gain a theology and philosophy of generosity, along with the ability to recognize and resist the competing stories our culture tells about money, possessions, and people.
Each week will introduce key questions and a demonstration of how this part of our 2035 Vision is grounded in Christian Scripture and Doctrine, and why it matters for Christian Practice in everyday life.
Overview:
This Core Class is one of our Community Life classes on the 2035 Vision, which is to become a church that pursues Intentional Discipleship, Personal Holiness, and Radical Generosity. The class closes by helping each participant write a one-page generosity plan and name their next step of formation and readiness to be sent.
