Teacher: Mark Pearson
Purpose: This class explores a Christian theology of manhood and how parents are called to shape their sons into men who reflect the character of Christ. Together, we will examine what Scripture reveals about a boy’s journey into manhood, how God designed sons to bear his image as protectors, providers, and priests within the home, and how the Gospel forms virtues such as courage, integrity, purity, and servant leadership across the whole of a boy’s life.
Parents will grow in their ability to articulate a biblical vision for raising sons, apply it through the ordinary rhythms of family life and fatherhood, and recognize the competing cultural narratives that quietly script what our sons should become.
Overview: This Core Class is one of our Community Life classes on Christian Wisdom, which brings together Scripture, doctrine, and practice to engage others and the world, including the discipleship of our sons, toward the love of God and neighbor.
